- About Us
Springfield Township's NEW Residential Curbside Leaf Waste Collection Program will run from late March through December with a special collection week at the end of February as conditions warrant. The special Feb. collection will be cancelled if snow or ice is present.
Leaf waste includes leaves, garden residues, shrubbery and tree trimmings and similar material. Residents should place their leaf waste in a biodegradable paper bag or securely tied and bundled (so as not to exceed 4 feet in length nor 50 pounds in weight) at their curbside by 7:00 AM on their regular collection day.
NOTE: GRASS CLIPPINGS ARE NOT LEAF WASTE. PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE GRASS WITH YOUR LEAF WASTE. PLACE GRASS IN CANS OR PLASTIC BAGS FOR REGULAR REFUSE COLLECTION.
Fifteen (15) bags of leaf waste will be collected on a weekly basis. To the extent that additional bags are placed at curbside for collection, the Township will make reasonable efforts to remove them in a timely manner. The bags are not to exceed 50 lbs. in weight. You are encouraged to voluntarily compost leaves and garden debris in an environmentally responsible manner, including home-based composting and grass-cycling.
Please call the Township Building for more information about our new leaf waste collection program.
