- About Us
On the order of Governor Wolf, all public and private schools, universities, state-licensed daycares, gyms, community centers, and entertainment venues (including sporting events, YMCAs, theaters, and concerts) in Montgomery County will be closed for two weeks starting Friday, March 13, 2020.
Montgomery County has also prohibited all mass gatherings of any size that are scheduled to take place over the next two weeks either outside or in a temporary structure.
In light of these two announcements, Springfield Township will be cancelling all township recreation and library programs as well as all advisory board meetings in March. The Springfield Township Recreation Center and Gym located on Willow Grove Avenue, and the Free Library of Springfield Township will also be closed to the public effective immediately. This closure includes all rental events scheduled to take place at the Recreation Center and/or Gym. The Township will continue to notify residents as information becomes available on future program offerings and meetings.
All Springfield Township operating departments will remain open and continue to provide public services such as trash and recycling collection. Please check the Township's website, www.springfieldmontco.org, for continuous updates on the local impact of the Coronavirus.
