Residential Recycling Commercial Trash & Recycling Leaf & Yard Waste Other Recycling Programs FAQs
In 2019, Springfield Township and your neighbors helped Retrievr recycle 50 tons of electronics, clothing, and accessories.
Retrievr, the pickup service for electronics and clothing recycling that serves Montgomery County, has added to the list of materials that it will accept for a fee. Microwave ovens, dehumidifiers, air conditioners, and mini refrigerators can be picked up for a fee, in addition to TVs and monitors. The fee schedule is listed below and is on the Retrievr website at http://retrievr.com/montcopa.
Retrievr has also added a flat $12.50 doorstep convenience fee for clothing and any small electronics. If any of the below items are included with the pickup, the doorstep convenience fee is waived. Fees are charged for the following items:
- $15 for each microwave
- $38 for each flat TV of any size, for each TV/Computer monitor less than 33 inches that uses a Cathode Ray Tube (CRT)
- $105 for each TV monitor 33 inches or higher that uses a Cathode Ray Tube (CRT), for each wooden cabinet or rear-projection TV of any size
- $55 for each dehumidifier, window air-conditioner and mini refrigerator under 50 lbs.
If a resident is paying to have an item on the list above picked up, there will NOT be a $12.50 doorstep fee added.
Retrievr has also resumed a buyback program for high value items like smartphones and branded clothing which may appeal to some residents.
