Are township parks available for birthday parties, wedding photos or special private events?

While all active township parks are available to the general public daily from dawn until dusk, individuals should note the Springfield Township Park Classifications.

 Parties of 24 or less do not require a permit from the Parks and Recreation Department. Playgrounds are not available for private event reservation. Playgrounds are available to the public. All parties who intend on utilizing the playground during a small gathering are requested to share the space with any other playground user. Groups shall not monopolize any play structure.

Guests are responsible for leaving the venue clean upon departure. Bulk trash shall be removed from the premises. Groups that do not to have a permit issued by the Parks and Recreation Department are prohibited from bringing the following into any Township park: food truck, caterer, grill, alcohol, entertainment (such as but not limited to DJ, live band, moon bounce, climbing wall etc.).

 Groups of 25 people or more will require a permit. The Park Event Permit application is intended for organizers of public and private events and/or gatherings on Township property with an expected crowd size of twenty-five (25) people or more that does not directly benefit Springfield Township and/or its affiliated organizations. Springfield Township does not permit events in any other park. James A. Cisco Park is the only park available for private party rentals. By submitting an event permit request, you have access to the picnic grove surrounding the gazebo. This permit does not warrant private use of the entire park and playground. Cisco Park is open from Dawn to Dusk. No one should be in the park after dark.
