Summer Reading 2022

Summer reading is here, and we are celebrating the Oceans of Possibilities you can find in books! Everyone is welcome to join our summer reading program, where you can earn prizes for reading! We'll also have plenty of events and activities this summer, so we hope you'll join in the fun. Be sure to check out the website for all the details.

You can participate online using Beanstack, our virtual summer reading tracker (there is also a mobile app), or visit the library and ask for a paper reading log. Registration is open and you can track reading from June 20 through August 13 to earn rewards.

Children and Teens

All you have to do is mark down each day that you do some reading; no need to count minutes, books, or pages. Prizes are given out for every 10 days read. Free books are awarded at 25 and 50 days read. If you complete the program and read for at least 50 days, you're invited to the celebration party with food, games, and raffle prizes. All kinds of reading counts, whether you're reading a physical book or magazine, e-book, or audiobook, or listening to someone else read to you. The program is separated into 3 groups based on age:

  • Read to Me - for children from birth to age 4
  • Kids Club - for children from pre-K to entering 5th grade
  • Teens - for teens entering 6th through 12th grade

Check out the Kids' Events page and Teens' Events page for details on our fun activities this summer!

Adults

Adults can join in on the fun too! Rate and review the books you read to be entered into raffle drawings, which will be held throughout the summer. Each book review is one entry. You can use the online reading tracker to write reviews or pick up and submit paper rating ballots at the library. Check out the Adult Events page for various programs this summer.
