RecDesk Program Registration

Springfield Township Parks and Recreation utilizes an online registration program called RecDesk. The installation of RecDesk allows users to register for programs, view activity history, view payment history and much more!

Parents and guardians should list themselves as the head-of-household when making a family account. All contact information should be up-to-date in the event the Parks and Recreation Department should need to contact you regarding the program.

Cancellations & Refund Policy

Program Cancelation
Springfield Township Parks and Recreation reserves the right to cancel any program, trip or activity due to insufficient registration. A full refund will be issued to the participant.

Program Withdraw & Refunds

Any participant may withdraw from a Springfield Township Parks & Recreation activity, and be entitled to a refund, if such withdrawal and refund request is provided to the Parks & Recreation Department no less than three (3) weeks prior to the start of any program. An administrative fee of $15.00 (per program per child) will be withheld from all processed registrations. Many classes & camps depend on the number of participants and your registration may ensure that the programs will run. NO adjustments or refunds will be made within three (3) weeks of the start of the class or for missed classes/sessions.

For those registering for an outdoor or athletic program such as tennis, golf, soccer, basketball, etc; please be aware, Springfield Township Parks and Recreation does not guarantee rain out dates. In the event that an activity is rained out, the registration fee will not be refunded. 

Bus Trip Withdrawals
Bus Only Trips: Refunds are available for withdrawal requests no less than three (3) weeks prior to the date of the trip. A processing fee of $15.00 (per program per person) will be withheld from each processed withdrawal. If the request occurs within three (3) weeks of the date of the trip, no refund will be given.

Broadway or Sporting Event Bus Trips: Refunds are not possible for bus trips to ticketed events. 

Pro-Rate and Late Registration Fees
Programs will not be pro-rated for those who register late or miss program sessions. A late fee shall be applied to any registration taken after set late fee dates. Once a registration deadline has occurred, no registrations will be accepted. 

Program Transfers
Participants are entitled to transfer from one program to another program of the same fee prior to the start of the program. Program transfers will be honored upon email and phone call request only.

Weather Cancelations
Inclement weather such as snow, rain, etc. may prompt cancellation of programming. Springfield Township Parks and Recreation will send emails regarding weather updates on the day of the scheduled program. Sessions may be made up at another date, schedule permitting. 

For those registering for an outdoor or athletic program such as tennis, golf, soccer, basketball, etc.; please be aware, Springfield Township Parks and Recreation does not guarantee makeup dates. In the event that an activity is rained out, the registration fee will not be refunded.

High Heat Notice for Outdoor Programs: The Township continues to offer a variety of indoor and outdoor programming opportunities throughout the year, including during the hot summer months. The Township prioritizes the well-being of all participants, and kindly asks that you exercise discretion when deciding whether your child should take part in outdoor activities. The Township understands the importance of providing engaging experiences while ensuring the comfort and safety of every participant. Please consider potential weather conditions and the potential impact of heat exposure on your child.


Springfield Township Parks and Recreation Program Participant Code of Conduct

Springfield Township Parks and Recreation is dedicated to providing recreational programming for the community and are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, enjoyable, and respectable environment for everyone. In order to maintain this environment, participants are expected to follow the code of conduct at all times.

Disrespectful, disruptive, and distracting behaviors negatively impact the experiences of all other participants. Participants, parents, guardians and caregivers are expected to understand and comply with the behavioral expectations of Parks and Recreation programs. By way of registration, participants, parents, guardians and caregivers agree to comply with the following expectations.

Program Participants Code of Conduct

All program participants are prohibited from engaging in the following:

  • Disrespecting or discriminating against other participants or instructors based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, genetic information, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
  • Ignoring or refusing to follow program rules or staff instructions.
  • Using profanity, abusive language, or engaging in inappropriate or disruptive behaviors.
  • Possessing or using prohibited items, including illegal substances, alcohol, drugs, weapons, or related paraphernalia.
  • Engaging in any form of physical or verbal violence, harassment, or abuse.
  • Participating in unsafe or harmful behaviors toward oneself or others, including acts of self-harm.
  • Mishandling, damaging, or taking others’ belongings or property.

Parents / Spectators Code of Conduct

All parents / spectators are prohibited from engaging in the following

  • Disrespecting or discriminating against other participants or instructors based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, genetic information, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
  • Creating a negative, unsafe, or disruptive environment that interferes with others’ enjoyment or participation.
  • Using profanity, abusive language, or engaging in inappropriate or disruptive behaviors.
  • Possessing or using prohibited items, including illegal substances, alcohol, drugs, weapons, or related paraphernalia.
  • Engaging in any form of physical or verbal violence, harassment, or abuse.

The 3 R’s: Respectful, Responsible, Ready

The Springfield Township Parks and Recreation Department is committed to ensuring a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for all program participants. To this end, we encourage that all participants practice the 3 R’s: Respectful, Responsible and Ready. Participants should be respectful of other participants, instructors, and program / facility equipment, responsible for their actions and their belongings, and ready to participate and listen to instructors. The 3 R’s are a simple way for participants to remember the expectations of the Parks and Recreation Department.

Individuals may lose the opportunity to participate in Springfield Township Parks and Recreation programs and services, including the use of center facilities if individuals fail to abide by the Code of Conduct detailed above and the expectations of the Parks and Recreation Department are not met.

Consequences for Violations

The consequences for violating the code of conduct will be determined by Parks and Recreation Department staff based on the nature and severity of the offense. Violations can result in removal from the program and a temporary or permanent suspension from all Parks and Recreation programming. No refund will be issued to individuals who are suspended or removed from a program at the discretion of the Parks and Recreation Department.

By participating in any Springfield Township Parks and Recreation programs or activities, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. After reviewing this Code of Conduct, you understand that if you violate it, or any of the program rules, you will have to take responsibility for your actions and their consequences. If you are in violation, your parent(s) / guardian(s) may be notified. You understand that you may be sent home at your own or your parent(s) / guardian(s) expense without any refund. You also understand that you may be suspended from future Parks and Recreation programs and activities.

Zero Tolerance Policy

Springfield Township Parks and Recreation will practice a zero-tolerance policy. Coaches, parents and participants of Parks and Recreation Department programs shall not partake in any of the following:

  • Any form of physical violence, including but not limited to assault, striking of another individual while engaged, enrolled or participating in a recreational activity, program or game or sanctioned program.
  • Consumption of alcohol or drugs prior to or during an activity, program, game or sanctioned program with the exception of an Adult BYOB program or event.
  • Theft, damage or vandalism to any building or property.
  • Verbal abuse of participants, coaches, referees, members of the public, which is deemed to be aggressive, intimidating, or having the objective of inciting violence. This includes profane language or indecent gestures.

The action above will warrant an automatic minimum one-year suspension from the date of the incident, immediate dismissal from the program or activity (including the right to be a spectator) and no refund at the discretion of the Parks and Recreation Department. 

The Springfield Township Parks and Recreation Department facilitates in-house sport leagues for youth participants throughout the year. The Springfield community offers a variety of athletic programs separate from the Park and Recreation Department. The Parks and Recreation Department does not facilitate nor have control over the operations of these independent organizations. Please contact the respective organization with questions and concerns. 


How to Register

There are three ways to register for Parks and Recreation Programs. Each of the three methods requires patrons to have a RecDesk Family Account. 

Online:
Via RecDesk registration site. Choose your class(es), add to the shopping cart and process payment. 

By Phone:
Call 215-836-7600 during office hours. (Monday through Friday from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm)

In-Person:
At the Springfield Township Administration building. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.
