The library is offering two different programs to help encourage children to read and build their reading confidence! Learning to read is hard work, and a different atmosphere, a fun teen mentor, or a cute dog can help motivate and encourage young readers. Learn more about these programs below.
Reading Buddies
Read one-on-one with a teen mentor at the library! Suggested for children in grades K to 5. Registration is required. Sign up for a 30-minute time slot and read with one of our teen volunteers. Please call the library at 215-836-5300 or drop in to register.
Please note this is not a tutoring program to teach children how to read; this program is for reading practice and mentorship. Available dates and times below.
Afternoon sessions (4 and 4:30 PM time slots available) are on February 2, 9, 19, and 25. Evening sessions (6:30 and 7 PM time slots available) are on February 3, 10, 19, and 26.
Tail Waggin' Tutors
Our popular program where kids in grades K to 5 can read aloud to a certified therapy dog is back for another session! Registration is required. Sign up for a 10-minute time slot by stopping in or calling the library at 215-836-5300. February dates and times listed below.
