Springfield Township welcomed two new members to its Board of Commissioners during their January 5th, 2026 reorganizational meeting. 

Robert C. Goldberg was sworn in as Commissioner of Ward 4. Commissioner Goldberg is an Erdenheim resident with a professional background in web production management, marketing, and design. He is a co-founder of AG Strategic, a consultancy firm, and is actively engaged in the Springfield Township community. His involvement includes efforts related to traffic calming, human-powered transportation, park improvements, open space preservation, strengthening police-community relationships, and promoting greater transparency in local government. In his free time, Commissioner Goldberg enjoys birding, hiking, bicycling, and rock climbing.

Thaddeus S. Kirk was sworn in as Commissioner of Ward 6. Commissioner Kirk is committed to maintaining good government in Springfield Township, promoting sustainability, preserving green space, and fostering trust within the Township’s diverse and vibrant community. He has volunteered with Little League softball and is a parishioner and volunteer with St. Genevieve Parish and School. Commissioner Kirk holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Villanova University and works as an attorney. Outside of work, he enjoys tennis, cooking, gardening, and scuba diving.

In addition to welcoming new commissioners, the Board also announced leadership changes as part of its reorganization. Commissioner Susanna Ratsavong (Ward 2) was selected as President of the Board of Commissioners, having previously served as Vice President. Commissioner Brendan May (Ward 7) was elected Vice President of the Board of Commissioners.
