Springfield Township is excited to announce that it has been awarded a Community Conservation Partnerships Program (C2P2) Grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources in the amount of $134,300 for the Cisco Park Playground Improvement Project.

Through this project, Springfield Township will revitalize the playground at Cisco Park with the installation of new play structures and swings, play-surfacing to replace the existing mulch, and a new pavilion. Other aspects of this project includes improving ADA access to the playground as well as the installation of a new sensory play area (sensory panels, musical structures, etc.) to create a more inclusive playground that will provide an opportunity for universal play to all residents.

"This project is reflective of the ever changing needs of our community," stated Baird Standish, President of the Springfield Township Board of Commissioners. “The implementation of a more inclusive playground will not only be physically accommodating and engaging, but also furthers the Township's efforts to provide an exceptional park system that promotes the inclusion of all residents regardless of age or ability."

The Springfield Township Board of Commissioners and staff wishes to thank the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the Grant Evaluation Committee for seeing the value in this proposed project and providing this generous award.

No dates have been scheduled in terms of beginning construction on this project.
